How this works
Elders, deacons and the rest of us
The New Testament describes local congregations overseen by a group of elders, men who meet the qualifications set out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, and served by deacons who take responsibility for particular areas of the work.
There is no board above them and no office elsewhere issuing instructions. Decisions about this congregation are made by this congregation, which means our leaders are people you can find on a Sunday morning and talk to directly.
